Tasting Notes

  • See: Rich amber, lightly hazy, soft traces of effervescence
  • Smell: Fragrant and crisp, ripe apple and earthy-herbaceous notes.
  • Taste: Gently bubbly, lovely and refreshing acidity, with a touch of tannins; tart apples, citrus notes with a light residual sweetness

Notes from the producers

Tom Oliver’s signature medium-dry cider. A classic example of a naturally fermented traditional West-Country Cider, with a light sparkle and orange-citrus flavours to balance the apple flavour.

Naturally fermented in stainless steel the purity of the fruit shows through. Made by Tom Oliver of Ocle Pychard.

Personal Notes on Pomona Rolling Blend

No cider or perry made by Tom Oliver has ever let me down, and this is no exception.

This wonderful cider is as as at home on a winter afternoon in front of the tv with board of seasoned cheeses as it is in the garden tending after a roaring BBQ on a hot summer’s day.

If someone who never had fine cider before asked me to suggest something perfectly crafted, unique yet reminiscent of traditional cider, I would point to this is a heart beat.

Food pairing

Pomona Rolling Blend has some sharp yet autumnal notes that I see pairing perfectly with traditional British seasoned cheese, such as a sharp cheddar, but also rich vegetarian autumnal dishes like roasted squash, mushroom risotto or cheese and bacon quiche.
