Tasting Notes on Sidro del Bosco
Sidro del Bosco is a balanced and agreeable sparkling cider perfect for those who want to enjoy a relaxed afternoon sipping a really natural product. The generic label “Organic Italian apple cider” with ingredients “organic & naturally fermented juice pressed from premium Italian apples” confirms its status as a genuinely real cider, where there isn’t space for anything but apple juice, but even knowing this I would have not expected such a nuance of aromas.

The title “Sidro del Bosco” which from Italian it translates to “forest cider” has clean strong notes of fresh red apples and sour berries from the undergrowth. When it warms up, it starts turning into stewed red apples with sweet spice notes. After a while it is almost like drinking unsweetened liquid apfelstrudel (without any cinnamon). The overall mouthfeel is refreshing yet rich, perfectly balanced with a good level of acidity that leaves almost a mild mouth watering feeling. It surely is a cider that knows how to please the palate and doesn’t need aging to enjoy.
Sidro del Bosco is made by Cester Camillo, family run organisation that produces Prosecco in an estate near Treviso, in Veneto (Italy). As an additional line of production, Cester Camillo also focuses on beer
