Notes from the producers
Wild fermented, rare apple varieties, from 2023 vintage blended with some freshly pressed apples from 2024, including Devonshire Quarrenden & Strawberry Norman, grown in the Exe Valley orchard we foster. The addition of freshly pressed juice that had just begun a native fermentation gives this can a mouthwatering, sherberty juiciness that you only taste straight from the tank or barrel when juice begins to ferment.
Personal Notes on Mêlé 2023
Mêlé is a beautifully vibrant and elegant sparkling cider, with nice structure and tannin. It is well balanced between gentle acidity and light tannins that leave you a particularly clean mouth. It is very easy to drink on its own or it could be paired with some strong flavoured dishes.
Food pairing
With such gentle bubbles this cider pairs wonderfully with strongly flavoured seafood such as fish and chips, a mild curry, or even a spiced vegetable tagine.
