Triple Anum by Beardspoon

Triple Anum is a still and semi-dry Eastern county cider, made by Beardspoon; it’s a multi-vintage blend, using Bramley and Russet single varietals from 2022 and 2023 along with a blend from 2024.

It’s a joyful, juicy and easy to drink combination that will make even non-cider drinkers seriously reconsider their stance

Personal Notes on Triple Anum by Beardspoon

Triple Anum is one of those ciders that re-awakens in me the owe of cidermaking on a weekly basis. Not because I drink this cider on a weekly basis, but because it is ciders like this one that – discovered on a weekly basis – remind me of how remarkable and spectacular cider making is – nothing to envy to winemaking.

Beardspoon Triple Anum - cider colour close up

Triple Anum is a marvelous blend of ciders from different vintages and different apple varieties, where clearly the cider master has been able to bring together and marry perfectly two different sides of the spectrum – sweetness and acidity. Russet apples give depth and sweetness while Bramley apples bring refreshing tartness. Have little knowledge of what the 2024 blend is made with, it is difficult to pinpoint the role of it in the overall blend, but my guess is that it has brought in a touch of depth, sweetness and fair amount of complexity.

Tasting this cider slowly, you will also notice how – as it warms up – some of new notes will arise, including some nutty and winter spice notes.

Very easy to drink, gentle and pleasant cider with personality and tickling tannins.

Food pairing

With nicely perceivable tannins, balanced acidity and sweetness, I could see Beardspoon Triple Anum cider pairing well with flavoursome hearty vegetarian dishes like a pumpkin risotto or even mildly spiced dishes such as a pad thai.
